Breeding is strict. A few are bred and no weakness tolerated
In years past I used to pair up on valentines day as is traditional, Then I started breeding later in the year as I found youngsters bred as late as May were still competitive.
In 2019 hawks decimated my team by 80% to the point I was ready to give up. Returning from a long trip away I found youngsters in the nest. These youngsters came on so well that I actually broke my 40yr wait for a win, in fact taking 1st & 2nd.
Having such a small team left for 2020 I decided to pair up in December to replace the birds the hawks had taken in 2019.
I now have a great crop of youngsters & find the loft full & no racing due to Covid-19- typical !
