We all want our birds to be in the best of health to enable us to get them to be in the peak of fitness.
It was once said good corn, fresh water and clean air were enough, that may have been true then, but not so much now.
I am not a great believer in medicating for the sake of doing so, to what end?
My stock birds are treated for worms, canker and cocci prior to breeding.
The race birds have samples sent away for testing and any medication is based upon the results.
The birds are generally healthy, after all the loft is cleaned on a regular basis, perches and nestboxes daily, floors (grilled) weekly. Floor dressing used.
All birds in the loft are treated for PMV. After a dose of it in 1986 which decimated my team, I wont go through that again!
